Villa Chigi Saracini: the town rediscovers itself
On Saturday, June 6th, at 5:00 PM, Castelnuovo Berardenga celebrates the reopening to the public of Villa Chigi Saracini, one of the most significant sites in the town’s history and identity.
After the Villa’s entry into public ownership, a new phase begins: the complex and its monumental park are once again enjoyed by the community as a space for culture, encounters, beauty, and participation. The event will also be an opportunity to present the summer events program, including the Chianti Festival, the Bruscello, and guided tours of Villa Chigi Saracini.
The celebration will feature music by the Schirò, Guerri, and Maurizi trio, and a buffet open to participants and residents.
Speakers will include Fabrizio Nepi, mayor of Castelnuovo Berardenga; Eugenio Giani, president of the Tuscany Region; Agnese Carletti, president of the Province of Siena; Riccardo Coppini, president of the Monte dei Paschi di Siena Foundation; Carlo Rossi, rector of the Opera della Metropolitana; Laura Bonelli, curator of artistic projects for Vernice Progetti culturali; and Anna Nocentini, coordinator of the library of the Accademia Musicale Chigiana.
The floor of Siena Cathedral will reopen from June 27th to July 31st.

The great medieval historical reenactment of San Gimignano, organized by the Knights of Santa Fina, returns on Friday, June 19th, Saturday, June 20th, and Sunday, June 21st.
